This isn’t simply a film about the problems facing our chalk rivers. It is a film about the people dedicating their time, knowledge and passion to conserving, improving, protecting and restoring them.

In their own words
Through interviews, the documentary will introduce the people and organisations working to protect England’s chalk rivers, and showcase the projects already taking place.
They will share their experiences, challenges, achievements and hopes for the future—revealing not only what is being done, but the knowledge, commitment and collaboration behind it.
IN PRODUCTION
Filming across Hampshire
Interviews with contributors are scheduled between July and October 2026, with filming continuing through the changing seasons until summer 2027.
